Presented by Brittany Rosen, PhD, CHES, University of Cincinnati and Kelly Wilson, PhD, MCHES, FASHA, Texas A&M University. This Eta Sigma Gamma (ESG) sponsored webinar will be led by an early-career and middle-career Gamman providing health education undergraduate students, graduate students and emerging professionals with information and skills to write and submit a manuscript for publication in the health education field. This webinar will focus on how emerging professionals can utilize research-based writing techniques and strategies, such as setting a writing schedule, mind-mapping, and key sentence checks, to increase their writing quality and productivity. Additionally, strategies for writing in a collaborative team will be explored. Further, a description of the steps for submitting a manuscript for publication, including how to select an appropriate journal, formatting the manuscript to the journal’s requirements, writing a cover letter, and creating a title page, will be presented. Finally, the webinar will provide participants with various methods for addressing reviewers’ comments in an organized and clear manner for resubmission. The authors will use submission to the Journal of School Health, The Health Educator and other health-related journals as examples. Participants will also be provided resources for their continued learning of the writing and manuscript submission process. Register today!
