One Stop Shopping – Your Ticket to Teaching Health and Mental Health While Meeting The WSCC Model

Thursday, March 29th, 2018 2:00 pm-3:00 pm ET

Presented by Paula Prentis, LMSW

Health education has hardly ever been a one-stop-shopping event. A menu of offerings exist on the web, but where can you fulfill all your mandates and standards with a consistent dialogue, look and feel? This presentation shows you exactly how to do that while meeting the WSCC model of developing your students’ physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs. Looking for a free health curriculum that meets NHES? Need to teach mental health beginning yesterday? Or, are your students curious about specific topics about which you lack familiarity? No worries. If they are curious about it, likely you will find all the answers in the same place: www.YourSelfSeries.com. This is not a sales event with cheap talk and slimy gimmicks. This is the chance to be walked through a website that empowers you with materials that empower your students with knowledge and skills.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify elements of a safe classroom so students are ready to learn not only content, but the skills required to help them feel successful in school and in life.
  • Navigate a website that offers not only the content required of the NHES, but also mental health content and a variety of other student requested topics.
  • Demonstrate how a quality health education program meets the WSCC Model of folding health into education, including the physical, emotional and social elements that lay the groundwork for cognitive success.
