Future Leaders Academy

 

Future Leaders Academy (FLA)

The American School Health Association established the Future Leaders Academy (FLA) to identify and train individuals for future leadership roles.

The Future Leaders Academy program builds skills and familiarizes young professionals with the programs and activities of the Association. Academy participants are engaged in various ASHA activities and attend committee and Board meetings as part of the experience.

Academy participants pledge to the following commitments:

  • Attendance and participation at annual ASHA conferences during the length of their FLA appointment.
     
  • Attendance and participation at one FLA meeting during the year (ASHA will cover expenses).
     
  • Involvement in monthly Board of Directors conference calls.
     
  • Participation in and discussion of periodic reading assignments.
     
  • Preparation of written reports as required.
     
  • Participation in special FLA meetings during annual ASHA conferences, conference calls, and other designated meetings.
     
  • A 2-year Academy commitment.  

Complete the Future Leaders Academy Application Form and e-mail the completed form and a 3-page curriculum vita to 

ASHA National Office  The vita should highlight professional service.

Deadline for nominations - June 1, 2013.
