ASHA Sponsorship Overview

ASHA Sponsors

The American School Health Association has an impressive record of service and a strong commitment to the membership’s central goal of promoting the development of healthy children and youth. You too can embrace ASHA’s commitment to providing superior services and programs by partnering with us as an ASHA sponsor.

Opportunities are available in Conferences, Publications and Scholarships.

ASHA sponsorships are vital to ASHA’s interests as well as mutually beneficial to your institution. Your financial contribution enables ASHA to continue to shape standards of practice for school nurses, physicians, health educators, and other school health professionals, to maintain high-quality education programs, and to conduct and report research on the cutting-edge.

Sponsors gain access to ASHA membership, establish visibility for their products and services, and openly reaffirm their commitment to the health of children.

Please look over the level of involvement you wish to make and join with us today. Mary Bamer Ramsier at the ASHA National Office will help you identify the activity that will maximize your visibility. Thank you.

Conferences

ASHA conferences and education programs offer diverse perspectives and new ideas for linking school health professionals with the resources they need to improve their performance. With an annual conference, ASHA provides a captive audience of more than 600 health care delivery and teaching professionals seeking solutions to the new and old problems facing children in schools.

What better way to put your institution in the spotlight than by affiliating with ASHA and its 80-plus year history of successful meetings. The honor roll of institutions and groups who have sponsored programs and events at ASHA conferences is impressive, including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Co., sanofi pasteur, MetLife Foundation, the John P. McGovern Foundation, ETR Associates, School Health Supply Corp., the University of Florida, and many others.

Take advantage of the opportunities to display and demonstrate your products and services. Join us in 2010 at ASHA’s 84th annual meeting, October 13 - 16, at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center, Kansas City, MO.

Publications

Publications - ASHA’s tools of the trade – are valuable primers for professionals developing and evaluating effective health instruction and health service programs in their communities. For information seekers, ASHA publications are indispensable resources of descriptions of state-of-the-art programs and products.

ASHA’s primary information provider, the Journal of School Health, reaches education professionals at all academic levels, health care providers in school and public health settings, and an international audience in 56 countries. Health in Action, ASHA newest contribution to the health and education literature, provides health and education professionals in grades 5 -12 the information they need to plan, organize and manage successful health programs.

ASHA publications provide a convenient collection of materials on specific topics. Underwriting an ASHA publication project is a great way to get involved.

ASHA is striving to shape the future of high-quality school health programming. Reflective of this commitment to the future is ASHA’s Scholarship Program. Designed to support professionals in the field as well as professionals-to-be, ASHA’s scholarship program offers companies the opportunity to make a significant investment in the school health leaders of the future. Participation options range from making a one-time donation to the general scholarship fund to endowing a visiting professorship position at the ASHA National Headquarters.

In the past, ASHA has awarded graduate and undergraduate scholarships to students in the fields of health education, medicine/dentistry, and nursing attending schools such as Temple University, Norfolk State University, Rutgers University, and The Pennsylvania State University.
