Continuing Education Opportunities:
The American School Health Association provides professional development opportunities for all those associated with school health programs.
ASHA offers a variety of professional development options - conferences and self-study - to ensure accessibility.
All continuing education opportunities are free for ASHA members.
The American School Health Association is a designated provider of Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (#OH0005). ASHA reports Continuing Education Contact Hours on a quarterly basis to NCHEC: 1st quarter (April 15); 2nd quarter (July 15); 3rd quarter (October 15); and 4th quarter (January 15).
ASHA offers ACT 48 for Pennsylvania professional school employees for completion of ASHA continuing education courses. Submit test to ASHA, who in turn will issue a Certificate of Completion. The Certificate of Completion and the PA Department of Education Professional Personnel ID should be sent to the PA Department of Health, Division of School Health:

How to Obtain Continuing Education Contact Hours
All ASHA Self-Study Offerings are available for purchase from the ASHA Publications and Professional Development Materials page of the ASHA web site. To assist you in purchasing the materials, you can: 1) click on the title you wish to purchase on this page, or 2) type in - Self-Study - in the Search mechanism of this web site and it will provide a complete list of all ASHA Self-Study Offerings.
ASHA members receive contact hours for free.

with your Username and Password and access the Continuing Education page
in the Members Only section.
Once you have completed the exam, mail to:

Your Continuing Education (CE) Certificate will be e-mailed within 4-6 weeks of receipt of your answer sheet and if applicable, your examination fee. If you do not receive the certificate within this time frame, please contact the National Office Staff at 301-652-8072.
