Continuing Education

The American School Health Association provides professional development opportunities for all those associated with school health programs.
ASHA offers a variety of professional development options - conferences and self-study - to ensure accessibility.

All continuing education opportunities are free for ASHA members.

The American School Health Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), Agency Provider #A22.

The American School Health Association is a designated provider of Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (#OH0005). ASHA reports Continuing Education Contact Hours on a quarterly basis to NCHEC: 1st quarter (April 15); 2nd quarter (July 15); 3rd quarter (October 15); and 4th quarter (January 15).

Most ASHA Annual School Health Conferences offer Continuing Medical Education (CME),
Mental Health Contact Hours (NBCC and NASW) and a Continuing Education Certificate of Participation.
